COVID UPdates

Owing to the improving landscape of the pandemic – particularly considering the dropping rates of infection and the high rate of the highest risk population having been vaccinated in our counties and our congregation – the elders have voted that beginning Sunday, May 23, we will be making the following changes to our COVID policies:

- We will be returning to one worship service on Sunday mornings at 10am, with Sunday school and Adult Bible class beginning at 9am. As we did before the pandemic, Sunday school and adult bible class will begin by meeting together in the sanctuary for a brief introduction and hymn.

- Most pews will return to their normal places, and seating restrictions will be lifted. However, there will remain several rows of seating in the fellowship hall for those who are not comfortable sitting in close proximity to others

- Hymnals will be returned to the pews and may be used by any who choose. For the time being, we will continue to print off several dozen orders of service for those who may not be comfortable handling the hymnals. This policy will be adjusted as needed.

- Sunday school students will no longer be required to wear face coverings, although they are certainly welcome to wear them if they or their parents feel it is best

- We will stop using the prepackaged communion kits, and return to using separate wafers and individual cups for communion

- Offering plates will not, at this time, be passed around. They will remain at the rear of the sanctuary as they have been throughout the pandemic. Masks and hand sanitizer will also continue to be made available at the entrance to the sanctuary

- The children’s busy bags will be returned to usage

- Children’s sermons will resume in the month of June

- Acolytes will return in the month of July – this will afford us time to get schedules out to the families

Please feel free to address any questions or concerns you may have to the pastor, or to the elders. We look forward to getting fully back to worshipping together as a congregation!
